About This Project

Tewkesbury Council approached PRH Design for an identity for their new Tewkesbury History Festival. The four-day event, curated by the John Moore Museum and Tewkesbury Borough Council, brought acclaimed historians, broadcasters, and authors to the town’s historic venues.

Brief

To create a new logo, colour schemes, and guidelines to be used for signage, adverts and banners. To also design the event programme. The subject matters included architecture, royalty, wars, art and many others so the solution had to be relevant across all. Ideally also with a connection to Tewkesbury’s historic past.

Target market & behaviour / insights

Historians – both professional and amateur, families, local people interested in history in general and having viewed some of the expert speakers on television.

How do we want viewers to feel:

I think this will be interesting and informative. Talks, demonstrations and walks are all available. It has a varied selection of subjects from the very old through the middle ages to the second world war. Tewkesbury has an amazing history and this could be a good day out.

The proposition

Entertaining, exploring and educating.

The outcome

The identity and programme was colourful and striking. The festival was a great success drawing many thousands of visitors.
